FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

What is PastebinZ?

PastebinZ is a lightweight text & code pastebin, running since 2019. The project focuses on simplicity, clean URLs, fast performance and minimalism.

Is PastebinZ free?

Yes. The service is free to use with no registration required.

What is the paste size limit?

The current limit is 200 kB. This is more than enough for any normal paste, script, log or note.

Does PastebinZ support syntax highlighting?

No. All pastes are stored and displayed as plain text without syntax highlighting.

Can I use HTML tags inside a paste?

Pastes are treated as plain text. HTML, scripts and formatting tags are shown as text and do not execute.

Are links allowed?

Yes. Lines that contain only a plain URL (e.g. "https://example.com") are automatically converted into clickable links. If the URL appears together with other text on the same line, it is shown as plain text.

HTML tags such as <a href="..."> are displayed as text and do not work inside pastes as clickable links.

Do pastes expire?

Pastes do not have a fixed expiration timer. In rare cases very old or unused pastes may be removed during routine maintenance. In practice, most pastes stay online for at least 90 days.

Can I password-protect my paste?

All pastes on PastebinZ are always public. There is no option to hide, encrypt or password-protect a paste. Published pastes may be indexed by search engines.

What content is not allowed?

We strictly prohibit the following content: child abuse material, extremist materials, hacked or stolen data, personal information, financial data, password lists, malware, botnet code, scams, spam links, doxxing, harassment, or anything illegal or harmful.

Reported pastes are reviewed manually. Confirmed violations lead to immediate removal and permanent IP blocking.

In cases involving child abuse material or other severe crimes, PastebinZ will comply with law enforcement as required by applicable regulations. We do not disclose our internal processes or retention policies.

How does your spam protection work?

PastebinZ uses a combination of automated and manual abuse-prevention mechanisms. We monitor unusual activity patterns such as flooding, repeated identical posts, harmful content, or large amounts of outgoing links.

If our system flags your paste as suspicious, it may be rejected automatically. This behavior is normal and helps prevent abuse and protect the service.

Can I report a paste?

Yes. Open the paste you want to report, and click "Report this paste" at the bottom of the page. Our moderators will review the report. If we find that the paste indeed violates our terms, it will be deleted.

Do you store logs?

We keep only minimal technical data required for abuse prevention and service stability. PastebinZ is not intended for illegal, harmful or privacy-sensitive storage.

Do you add ads to user pages?

PastebinZ may include small sponsored elements on paste pages to keep the service free. These additions are automated and never alter the content you submitted.

Is there any way to contact PastebinZ?

PastebinZ is an automated service. We do not offer personal communication or manual support. Reports are reviewed only for clear violations of our Terms. We do not process requests related to formatting, indexing or paste modifications.
